Splashing

Arrows of rain seem to pelt a dragonfly in Indonesia’s Riau Islands in Shikhei Goh’s winning image, “Splashing.” [...]

“This photo was taken when I was taking photos of other insects as I normally did during macro photo hunting. I wasn’t actually aware of this dragonfly since I was occupied with other objects. When I was about to take picture of it, it suddenly rained but lighting was just superb. I decided to take the shot regardless of the rain which caused my Eos 7D and 100/2.8 L Macro to get wet. The result had caused me to be overjoyed and hope it pleases the viewers.”

Tokyo/Glow

I told a buddy about this earlier and it’s definitely worthy of a bump. Came across Tokyo/Glow last year via LaughingSquid and as Scott wrote, it truly is stunning.

Tokyo/Glow follows the nighttime journey of an illuminated man from a crosswalk sign as he embarks on an adventure through the streets of Tokyo. Shot on location throughout Tokyo using thousands of individual digital stills.

To achieve the striking effect of the illuminated man, an original light suit was constructed using hundreds of feet of high-voltage LED rope lights and a translucent nylon outer shell.

Kidstreet is the band behind the music (facebook/itunes) and the name of the song is just that… “Song“. Looking forward to hearing more from them.
